improving the quality of life for children suffering from pediatric conditions

pediatric cannabis medicine

We are leaders in Pediatric Cannabis Medicine, providing high-quality, consistent, and effective cannabis products to treat children suffering with epilepsy, autism, childhood cancer, and other pediatric conditions. Cannabis and CBD is a strong alternative to western medication, and in many cases is proving to be more effective in treating symptoms associated with these conditions.

We have developed our products based on observational data from over 10,000 pediatric patients spanning the last seven years. Our aim is to perfect our products so they can treat specific symptoms, from seizures and behavioural problems, to pain and trouble sleeping at night. Canniatric products remove the guesswork and risk of treating children with cannabis and CBD. No parent should need to scour back-alley dispensaries for products that may cause more harm than good.

For us, passion rules the game. When your child’s life is on the line, you’ll stop at nothing to improve their quality of life. We know firsthand what it feels like to be hopeless, broken, and abandoned by the medical community with no viable solutions on the horizon. We look above and beyond our challenges within this industry and the politics that surround it to a hopeful future, where children don’t need to be prescribed with a cocktail of drugs to numb their symptoms.

We are here to improve the quality of life not only for children but for families. Canniatric’s foundation is built on education and empowerment. Our consultations are free of charge and our support extends far beyond the product on the shelf. When other people don’t get it, we do

welcome to our family

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

ray mirzabegian

Ray Mirzabegian - Canniatric.jpg

Ray Mirzabegian was driving home to California from Colorado in 2013 when he was pulled over by a border patrol agent. Unfortunately, he was illegally transporting CBD oil over state lines for his daughter, Emily. Terrified of being arrested, he quickly told the officer his story – that his young daughter was suffering from Dravet Syndrome, a form of epilepsy that caused her to have hundreds of seizures a week. He had been using CBD oil to treat her after doctors recommended that he and his wife consider hospice care and it was proving to be hugely effective. The officer became emotional during his story and let him go.

Earlier that year Ray had watched the CNN documentary Weed, which inspired him to source medical cannabis for Emily’s epilepsy. As he frequented back-alley dispensaries, travelled to Colorado to purchase Charlotte’s Web (which he attributes to saving Emily’s life), and researched pediatric cannabis more deeply, his hope and determination grew. He met parents who were on the same desperate journey as he was, and he knew there was a huge need for effective alternatives to conventional treatment. Meanwhile, the CBD oil he was using to treat Emily reduced her seizures by 80% – results she had never experienced with western medicine.

Ray was relieved that the officer let him go, but he knew that transporting cannabis into California every few weeks was not a long-term solution. Even more than her cannabis treatments, Emily needed her father. With this, his journey took a life-changing turn. He left his prestigious position as an Opticianry professor and began to grow his daughter’s medicine on his own, learning everything there was to know about the industry in order to improve Emily’s quality of life. As he persevered in the face of tight legal restrictions, his vision for creating accessible, responsible, high-quality cannabis products for children with epilepsy and autism blossomed and grew. He started Canniatric, a line of cannabis and CBD products made specifically for children, and his waiting list began to grow.

Now, after almost a decade in this industry and 14,000 clients later, Ray has become a leading name in the pediatric cannabis community. His innovation and care is fuelled by a deep passion that was, and will always be, inspired by Emily.

John Mirzabegian - Canniatric

John Mirzabegian

Operations & Customer Relations

John’s journey with cannabis began when he and his brothers found out about the healing effects of cannabis for epilepsy.

As Emily’s uncle, John was very committed to find a cure or treatment for his niece. After watching the CNN Documentary by Dr. Sanjay Gupta about Charlotte Figi and CBD therapy for epilepsy, John, Ray, and Alfred began their mission to get their hands on this incredible plant to save Emily.

After a few years of seeing the great results of cannabis on Emily and many other pediatric clients, they decided to create and launch Canniatric in 2014 to assure safe and consistent access to this medicine for all children in California.

John’s favorite quote is “Difficult Roads Often Lead to Beautiful Destinations”. All of the challenges and hardships are worth it, as soon as you see that your efforts have helped improve someone else’s quality of life.

Alfred Shahbazian - Canniatric

Alfred Shahbazian

Logistics & Distribution

Alfred joined forces with his brothers, Ray and John, in 2012 after seeing first-hand Emily’s success with CBD oil.

The struggles of accessing good quality cannabis oils in California at the time were real, so the brothers decided to grow and manufacture it themselves. Alfred quit his career in construction and dedicated all of his time and energy to helping save Emily’s life by learning how to cultivate Cannabis plants indoors.

What began as a desperate call to save his niece’s life turned out to be the most rewarding decision, helping improving thousands of other children’s lives.

Today Alfred is in charge of Logistics and Distribution for Canniatric, and truly can’t see himself working anywhere else.
